Farmers-worry-for-the-arrival-of-elephants

Just very close to Uthanapalli, there exists a forest area called chaanamavu forest in the oozier area of Tamil Nadu. Each year, plenty of elephants come to this area to plunder the ragi crops to be harvested shortly.

The farmers are highly worried about the arrival of 35 elephants. Usually these elephants stay for a period of 4 months and threaten the peasants and the forest officials. This year, as usual there arrived more than 60 elephants in the oozier forest area. Among them, 35 elephants have already reached to the Krishnagiri district of Chaanamavu forest, and killed a farmer named Govindappa.

Consequently, these elephants are chased by the forest officials with the help of crackers and bands. But the elephants re-appeared again and it created a great agony to the farmers again.
